‘The Wishing Nest’
I haven’t been honest lately.
Outside my window, someone has pulled the plug on this world. No honks, no hawkers, no usual hurry scurry. No familiar sounds. A deafening silence indeed.
But at home, it’s an unusual story. Every corner is alive. There’s conversation, laughter and revelry. Music at all hours. Tantalizing aromas wafting from the kitchen. No longer just a roof over my head.
I haven’t been honest because when someone calls this a tragedy, i nod along. But i admit, I am grateful. For within the same walls I’ve found, the home I always dreamed of.
